SUIS-Jiaoke B.C. Program Admissions Policy
Updated 20250922
As outlined in the Offshore Operating Manual, each school must have clearly outlined policies and procedures for Student Admissions. This helps to ensure we are recruiting quality students for the Offshore Program, while maintaining high standards for our school, and giving students the best opportunity to secure the Dogwood Diploma.
Admissions Policy:
Students seeking admission to SUIS-Jiaoke’s Pre-B.C. and G.10 B.C. Program are required to write an English-language entrance examination, prepared and delivered by B.C.-certified teachers. Minimum requirements to enter to the Program are determined on a year-to-year basis, using data from previous entrance exams. Students looking to transfer into the B.C. Program after Pre-B.C. or G.10 from other schools/programs will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, using guidelines provided by the Ministry of Education for Transfer Credits and Course Equivalencies. The school’s English Language Assessment Policy clearly outlines the expectations and procedures for our English Language Assessment practices.
Admissions Procedure for New Students (Pre-B.C., G.10):
- Students who meet the B.C. program’s minimum standards are extended offers to the C. Program and are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. They are expected to pay a tuition deposit by the deadline set by the local Ministry of Education to secure their spot in the B.C. Program.
Admissions Procedure for Transfer Students (from other B.C. Programs or Schools):
- The student must submit relevant documentation to the C. Principal (e.g. report cards, transcripts, letters of reference).
- The B.C. Principal reviews documentation using Ministry of Education Guidelines for Transfer Credits and/or Course Equivalencies to determine whether the student meets the requirements needed to join to the C. Program after regular intake points (e.g,. Pre-B.C., G.10, the start of the school year).
- The C. Principal may require the student to take the B.C. Entrance Exam if documentation is not provided/clear/questionable; refer back to Admissions Procedure for New Students.
- If accepted, the B.C. Principal prepares an Offer Letter for the student and communicates out via the International Director and Marketing/Recruiting
- Students who receive offers to the C. Program are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and are expected to pay a tuition deposit to secure their spot in the B.C. Program.
