I fell in love with teaching when I went abroad in 2001 for the first time and started working with English as a Foreign language learners. I went back to Canada to get my Bachelor of Education degree so that I could share my love of sciences and math, and of learning in general. It is a pleasure to work here at Jiaoke with such dedicated, interesting students who show a passion for life and learning.

I enjoy working in schools because it allows me to understand the collective human wisdom and transfer that to future generations. It enables us to develop more complex tools by building on pre-existing technologies and knowledge. We teach literacy and numeracy skills that broaden students’ visions beyond time and space as they can learn what predecessors have done and what contemporary people are achieving in various parts of the world.

I was inspired to join the field of education while teaching science at a summer camp. Facilitating the students’ experiences with the inquiry process was extremely rewarding and continues to fascinate and motivate me. My educational philosophy is “Every child has the right to success.” This philosophy drives my teaching and my desire to help all students access learning.
