On December 6th, 2023, SUIS JK Pre BC students held an activity called “Classical Artworks Enacted”. Now let’s walk into this activity and see the wonderful performance of the students!
After the activity, we also interviewed the teachers and students, let’s see what they had to say!
Judges’feedback
Mr. Cottrill:
I never thought of having a living gallery before where the pats come to life and people dramatize either the paintings or their reactions and responses to the painting. I really like the student performances,I thought they really got into the character in the paintings.
Ms. Woolfstead:
I think the project was a really good one, the way you guys went to a museum and you got to learn about the artworks and see them and then come back and do more history and work together to create scripts and act them out. All of that was a really great project and I’m very proud of Miss Yolanda and Miss Marie for creating it.
Mr.Law:
Performances were excellent. I was very inspired by the wonderful performances. The students’ scripts were well written, they were creative. The things I felt most shocked was the students remembered the script and performed with emotions. And their performances were strong enough to tell the audiences the message that the painting included.
Student 1:
I learned more about art, and after visiting the “600-year-old Master” in the Art museum, I learned about relevant art knowledge. In terms of teamwork, I discussed and made the project with my classmates for three weeks, and enhanced my preparation and leadership skills.
Student 2:
As a designer, the process of artistic creation relaxes me physically and mentally, gives me a lot of space to think and improves my creative ability. I don’t know what will happen under the accumulation of colors, which need us to figure out.
Student 3:
I am the planner of the team, so I did a lot of work on communication, such as how to decorate the board, how to present the final effect, and so on. We all cooperated very well. Through this activity, we learned about the knowledge of art in the Middle Ages and the Rococo period, and also gave us a preliminary understanding of how to co-organize an exhibition.
Miss Yolanda:
” Classical Artworks Enacted” is an activity that allows students to choose paintings they are interested in, and interpret them through inner monologues, conversations, or from the perspective of a third party. Let the students analyze the paintings from various angles to understand the real meaning and improve their artistic accomplishment.
Mrs Marie:
In this activity, PreBC students were divided into eight groups, which has improved their teamwork spirit. The students’ brilliant performance was affirmed by their peers, teachers and parents, and students gained a full sense of achievement. What they learned will definitely be beneficial throughout their high school life.
